In the other Pool ‘A’ games, the USA beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-1.

Argentina finished the preliminary round with 12 points, three ahead of the USA on 9. Trinidad and Tobago finished in third place on six points, while Puerto Rico followed on three.

Chile, Canada and Mexico ended the preliminary round in Pool ‘B’ with 12 points each. However, Chile won the group over Canada as a result of a better goal difference.
