Jamaican electrocuted in Bahamas
NASSAU, Bahamas (CMC):
A Jamaican man was electrocuted on Wednesday as he worked on the Airport Gateway project.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning when the 48-year-old Jamaican came into contact with an overhead power line.
According to a worker on the site, shortly before 10 a.m., the victim was unloading the truck when he pulled a lever and as a result the vehicle came in contact with power lines.
In a statement, the Bahamas Electricity Corporation expressed condolences to relatives and colleagues of the Jamaican – whose name has not yet been released.
The Power Company declined to provide further information as investigation continues.
This is the second fatal incident at the Airport project.
