Man accused of rape beaten to death in Trinidad prison

The police in Trinidad and Tobago are investigating a case in which a 47-year-old man accused of rape, died while in custody.
Aimard Placid Lima also known as ‘Ralph' died after being beaten.
He was found unconscious in a cell at the Golden Grove Prison in Arouca, and was later pronounced dead at hospital.
Lima was committed to stand trial for the rape of a minor in a case that is more than 25 years old.
Commissioner Martin Martinez says an investigation is being carried out into his death.
