Mandela still holding on
Former South African President Nelson Mandela remains in a serious but stable condition after being hospitalised on June 8 for a recurring lung infection.
Ninety-four-year-old Mandela has been suffering from health problems recently and was released from the hospital in April, after a 10-day stay caused by pneumonia.
This is his fifth visit to the hospital in the last two years.
The latest update from officials is that doctors are doing all they can to ensure his recovery, well being and comfort.
This statement was made after family members, of Mandela met at his home in the Village of Qunu.
Yesterday President Jacob Zuma's spokesman stated that South Africans should not hold out false hope of his recovery.
