Guyana dismisses Trafficking in Persons report
The Guyana government has dismissed the latest Trafficking In Persons report by the US State Department that placed the country on a tier two watch list.
Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee said the local Trafficking In Persons Task Force is convinced that the report is a complete misrepresentation of Guyana's situation.
Rohee said Guyana’s response to the report took some time because the Task Force thoroughly examined the document to make a comprehensive response which required a complete analysis.
He said having done so the Task Force is convinced that the report was a complete twisting of the true situation.
