There are growing calls for the Public Works Minister in Dominica to resign, for allegedly letting himself become the victim of an Internet scam.
Minister Ambrose George, the deputy leader of the governing Dominica Labour party, has been the subject of radio talk shows on the island for weeks now.
The main opposition, United Workers Party, yesterday urged Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit to dismiss the minister over alleged corrupt activities.
Opposition Leader Ron Green said the prime minister was duty-bound to issue a statement immediately advising on the course of action he plans to take.
Mr. George has declined to comment on the issue but said the government would be issuing a statement on the matter.
