Jamaica’s overseas-based players are scheduled to depart the country later this afternoon following the Reggae Boys elimination from CONCACAF 2010 World Cup qualifying on goal difference last night.

The Reggae Boys were eliminated despite scoring a 3-nil victory over Canada in their Group Two semi-final round match at the National Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd.

Luton Shelton, 28th minute; Marlon King 56th minute penalty and Omar Cummings 85th minute scored for Jamaica.

The victory pushed Jamaica to 10 points, the same as Mexico, which claimed second in the group after their 1-nil defeat in San Pedro Sula to hosts Honduras.

With the result in San Pedro Sula, Jamaica would have to beat the Canadians by seven clear goals to edge out the Mexicans.

Honduras topped the group with 12 points with the victory last night.

Only two teams from the group advance to the next phase, which will comprise six teams, with the top three advancing to South Africa.

The fourth place team will enter a home and away play-off with the fifth place team from the powerful South American region for another place.
