US labour leaders want deportations to stop

Several of the top labour leaders in the United States have called for President Barack Obama to stop deporting Caribbean and other immigrants until the US Congress passes an immigration overhaul bill.
That bill would grant a pathway to US citizenship for 11 million immigrants living illegally in the United States.
While Obama supports the Senate bill, several labour leaders said they were disappointed that he has not halted deportations while the fate of immigration reform is being debated.
