Caribbean Championship teams to arrive Monday
Five of the seven visiting teams for the Digicel Caribbean Championship, to be hosted in Jamaica, are scheduled to arrive in the country on Monday, December 1.
The teams are Cuba, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.
Defending champions Haiti and Guadeloupe will arrive on Tuesday, December 2.
The Reggae Boyz will open their campaign against Barbados on Wednesday, December 3.
The game will take place at the National Stadium, one of three venues, which will host matches.
The Reggae Boys are drawn in Group ‘A’, which also includes Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada.
Jamaica’s second assignment in the preliminary stage will be against Trinidad and Tobago.
That game is scheduled for December 7 at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay.
Jamaica will then take on Grenada in their final preliminary game.
The top four teams will earn the right to play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will be held in the United States next June.
Haiti have been drawn in Group B with Cuba, Guadeloupe and Antigua and Barbuda.
