St. Vincent fiscal measures

The government of St Vincent and the Grenadines is planning to introduce what it calls a twin fiscal stimulus to cushion the impact of the global financial crisis.
Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne said the outlook for the fiscal year 2009 will be problematic because of the deep turmoil and uncertainty of the major economies of the world.
The government plans include tax cuts for businesses and individuals, as well as expenditure on education, health and poverty reduction he added.
Sir Frederick is urging citizens to increase productivity in order to cope with the current economic hardships.
