NY legislator appeals for help for flooded Caribbean countries

A New York legislator has called for the Obama administration to provide assistance to three Caribbean countries that were severely affected by a low level trough system, which caused widespread destruction and the deaths of 18 people.?
In expressing his condolences to families of the 18 people killed during the hazard, New York City Councilman, Jumaane Williams said everything should be done to help survivors recover and rebuild.
He says Washington should offer any needed humanitarian assistance at the request of the governments of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia and Dominica.
