St Lucia’s main opposition United Workers’ Party has called for the immediate resignation of two government ministers over a rampant escalation of crime and a number of unexplained deaths in the health sector.

In a statement, the party said Health Minister Alvina Reynolds and Security Minister Victor La Corbiniere should be removed from office.

According to the party, there have been serious breaches and gaps in the public health systems under the leadership of the Health Minister.

It said La Corbiniere continues to ignore the serious crime situation in St Lucia.
