Tivoli edge closer to Harbour View
Tivoli Gardens scored a 1-nil victory over Village United at the Elliston Wakeland Centre to move within two points of overall leader Harbour View as the second round of the Digicel Premier League continued yesterday.
As a result of the victory, Tivoli Gardens improved to 31 points, while Harbour View only gained a point following a 1-all tie against Rivoli United at Spanish Town Prison Oval.
Harbour View are now on 33 points.
Defending champions Portmore United climbed to third place after a 2-1 victory over Reno at Frome Sports Club. Portmore now moved to 28 points, one ahead of Boys’ Town, which lost 2-1 to St Georges at Lynch Park in Portland.
In the day’s other games, Waterhouse edged Meadhaven 1-nil at Constant spring and Arnett Gardens turned back Sporting Central 1-nil at Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.
