Cayman records first local case of Chikungunya

Health officials in Cayman have reported the first case of locally contracted chikungunya, in the Savannah area of Bodden Town.
This brings to four the number of confirmed cases in Cayman.
The individuals in the three previously confirmed cases are believed to have contracted the virus while overseas.
A resident of West Bay is also under investigation for the mosquito-borne virus.
To date, chikungunya cases have been confirmed in 29 countries in the region.
