The opposition party in Trinidad and Tobago has raised concerns over Cuba’s decision to waive the cost of the surgery and treatment for Prime Minister Patrick Manning.
Mr Manning has returned home after a surgery in Cuba to remove a malignant tumour from his left kidney.
He has said that all his medical attention in Cuba, going back to 1998 when he was leader of the opposition, has been without cost to himself or the government.
Prime Minister Manning says while it was a gift, the question of integrity does not arise because of state-to-state relations.
Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday says he has concerns about the Cuban government paying for Mr Manning\'s operation, especially since information about it wasn\'t publicly disclosed.
