The West Indies team will be looking to start 2009 on a winning note when they tackle hosts New Zealand in the second One-Day International, beginning at 8:00 p.m. tonight Jamaica time.

Both teams are now chasing an important lead in the five-match series after the first match at Queenstown was abandoned on Wednesday because of rain.

New Zealand will enter tonight’s match as the favourites after reducing West Indies to 129 for five in the 36th over before rain ended play in the opening One Day.

Batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul was not in West Indies line-up on that day due to a finger injury.

Gayle says a decision on Chanderpaul will be made just before the toss.
