Regional four day bowls off
The 2009 West Indies Cricket Board four-day championship bowls off tomorrow with defending champions Jamaica playing hosts Leeward Islands at Warner Park in St Kitts and Nevis.
Jamaica are without eight national players currently on West Indies duties in New Zealand.
However, there are four players with West Indies senior team experience. They are Donovan Pagon, Brenton Parchment, Wavell Hinds and David Bernard.
The squad also includes West Indies Under-19 players Jason Dawes and Horace Miller, and former national Under-19 leg-spinner Gavin Wallace. The three players are the new faces in the squad.
In the other opening round games, Windward Islands and Guyana will face off at the National Stadium in Grenada, while Barbados will be at home to last season’s runners-up Trinidad and Tobago.
