Bucknor to umpire in Australia
Jamaican umpire Steve Bucknor will return to Australia to stand in next month’s One Day International, ODI, series between the host and New Zealand.
The trip marks his first assignment in Australia since his contentious appearance there a year ago.
During India’s 2007 to 2008 tour to Australia, the International Cricket Council, ICC, replaced Bucknor for the third Test in Perth after India had called for his removal following a number of controversial decisions in their second Test defeat in Sydney.
Bucknor will do all five matches in the Australia/New Zealand ODI series, starting at Perth on February 1.
He will be joined by local appointments for the series, which continues with matches on February 6 in Melbourne, February 8 in Sydney, February 10 in Adelaide and February 12 in Brisbane.
