Jamaica/Barbados face off
The fourth round of the West Indies Cricket Board’s regional four-day championship bowls off this morning with reigning champions Jamaica hosting Barbados in a top-of-the-table clash at Kensington Oval.
Jamaica lead the standings with 30 points, three more than the Barbadians.
There will be no Chris Gayle, Jerome Taylor or Daren Powell for Jamaica, and on the Barbadian side, no Fidel Edwards, Sulieman Benn and Dale Richards, as they have all been omitted ahead of the West Indies’ opening test against England.
The Jamaicans have made three changes to their squad, all enforced because of higher duty for players.
Wavell Hinds and Horace Miller replace Xavier Marshall and Brendan Nash, who have commitments with the West Indies team as they prepare for the first Test, while Bevon Brown takes the place of Gavin Wallace, who is part of the Windies ‘A’ team now playing England in St Kitts.
Windward Islands tackling Combined Campuses and Colleges at 3Ws Oval in Barbados and Leeward Islands facing Guyana in a bottom-of-the-table clash at Grove Park in Nevis.
