Munro/Alpha advance to semifinals

Munro College and Alpha Academy moved closer to a place in the semifinals of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Jamaica Hockey Federation Under-19 competition with victories yesterday.



Defending boys’ champion Munro College hammered Campion College 5-0 in the first match and then returned to beat Excelsior 2-0.



As a result of the victories, Munro have moved ahead in Zone ‘B’ with nine points, three ahead of Tivoli Gardens on six.



In the day’s other match, Alpha Academy defeated Immaculate 1-0 in a girls’ Zone ‘B’ match. Alpha have moved to four points, two behind leaders Papine.



The competition continues this afternoon with three games.



Tivoli Gardens will tackle St Andrew Technical High School in the first of two boys’ matches, beginning at 1.30 p.m. The other boys’ game features Kingston College against Wolmer’s at 3.30 p.m.



St. Hughs and Queens will meet in a girls’ Zone ‘A’ game, beginning at 2.30 p.m.
