Hiddink to coach Chelsea

Chelsea have announced that Russia coach Guus Hiddink will take over as temporary coach of the club until the end of the season.

The 62 year old Dutchman will meet his new players later this week ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup match at Watford in England.

He replaces Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was fired on Monday after six months as manager.

Hiddink will remain as coach of the Russian national side.

AC Milan coach Carlos Ancelotti is considered the favourite to take over on a permanent basis next summer.

Scolari was fired following a string of poor results that left Chelsea fourth in the English Premier League, nine points behind leader Manchester United.
