England cricketers were today forced to have their final preparations for the second Test against West Indies at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
Andrew Strauss’ team was scheduled to practice at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, the venue for the second test that starts tomorrow, but had to switch because of poor facilities.
The outfield at the venue was undergoing urgent repair in some areas. In addition, the area surrounding the nets was waterlogged.
However, Strauss insists the disruption will not affect the focus of his side as they attempt to claw their way back from 1-nil down in the series.
West Indies captain Chris Gayle said he is preparing his team to deal with a strong England fight back.
