The foreign ministers of Spain and Trinidad and Tobago have signed a double taxation agreement, which is designed to make the Trinidad market more attractive to Spanish investors.

The new deal is expected to assist energy company Repsol, which is the largest Spanish company operating in Trinidad and Tobago.

Repsol owns over 20 percent share in the Atlantic LNG plant.

This signing is part of a whirlwind visit to the twin-island republic by the King of Spain Juan Carlos and his wife, Queen Sofia.
