Bahamas China bilateral ties
The Bahamas and China have renewed their bilateral cooperation with the signing of an economic and technical agreement that will make available some 10 million US dollars for projects in The Bahamas.
Both countries have also agreed to a new framework for cooperation in agriculture.
A third agreement between The Bahamas and the Export and Import Bank of China will finance the construction of a modern highway leading from the Lynden Pindling International Airport to the College of The Bahamas campus in Oakes Field.
Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has also welcomed the signing of an agreement, which calls for abolishment of the requirement for diplomats to obtain visitors’ visas to facilitate entry into the two countries.
The agreements were signed during a two-day visit by a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Hui Liangyu.
