Record breaking day at Central Champs

Two records were broken at today’s opening day of the two-day Milo Central Championships at GC Foster College in Spanish Town.



David Hall and David Thompson, both of St. Jago High, shattered the Boys’ Class Two High Jump record clearing 1.90 metres.



Hall was adjudged the winner of the event.



Shanice Porter of Manchester High accounted for the other record. She won the Girls’ Class 3 Long Jump with a leap of 6.10 metres.



Defending girls’ champions Holmwood Technical and reigning boys’ champions St. Jago High have surged ahead in the early standings.



Holmwood Technical are ahead in the girls’ section after eight finals with 45 points. Edwin Allen are second with 37.5 points.



The top two schools are followed by Manchester High on 25, St. Jago on 18. 5 and Vere on 14.



St. Jago High have surged ahead in the boys’ race with 17 points after eight finals. The Spanish Town-based school is one point ahead of Manchester High on 16.



Vere Technical are in third place on 14 points, followed by Edwin Allen on 13 and Old Harbour High on 10.
