India replys strongly

India, replying to the host country New Zealand’s first innings total of 279 reached 278 for four at the end of today’s second day of the first Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton.



Gautam Gambhir has so far top scored for India with 72. He brought the score to 105 for the second wicket with Rahul Dravid, who scored 66.



The batsmen at the crease are Sachin Tendulkar 70 and Yuvraj Singh eight.



India resumed this morning on 29 without loss.



Chris Martin, two for 53, and Iain O’Brien, one for 56, are the top bowlers for New Zealand so far.
