Jamaica needs six points

Tournament leaders Jamaica, choosing to bat after winning the toss, were 189 for eight at Sports Time on the opening day of their 12th round Regional four-day match against Windward Islands at Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium.



Captain Tamar Lambert top scored for Jamaica with 93.



Jamaica need six points from the match to guarantee themselves the 2009 George Headley/Everton Weekes Trophy.



Over at Grove Park in Nevis, Combined Campuses and Colleges, choosing to bat against the Leeward Islands, reached 283 for three at the close of today’s first day.



Omar Phillips is undefeated on 163.



At Queen’s Park Oval, Guyana reached 129 for three at stumps against host Trinidad and Tobago.



Sewnarine Chattergoon is 52 not out.
