Boys’/Girls’ Champs underway

Day one of the premier high school track and field competition the Grace Kennedy/Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships is now underway at the National Stadium.
The four-day meet is expected to feature 2,702 athletes from 98 boys and 94 girls schools.
The first final of the meet, the Girls’ Triple Jump Open, is scheduled to start at 12.35 p.m.
The day will feature two other Girls’ Finals and one in the boys’ section.
The remaining girls’ finals for today are the Discus Class Three at 1.10 p.m. and Discus Class One at 4.45 p.m.
The lone final in the boys’ section is the Class One Long Jump, scheduled to start at 4.45 p.m.
The defending champions are Calabar High for the boys and Holmwood Technical for the girls.
