JFF president faces CONCACAF challenge
President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell, will be challenged for his seat on the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association of Football (CONCACAF), Executive Committee.
In the Caribbean Zone, Captain Burrell and Peter Jenkins of St Kitts and Nevis will face off in an election on June 1 at the CONCACAF Congress in The Bahamas.
Burrell has been serving on the eight-member CONCACAF Executive for the past six year, while Jenkins currently serves on CONCACAF’s Legal and Statutes Committee, a position he has held since 2006.
Jack Warner of Trinidad and Tobago will continue as a vice-president of the sport’s world governing body FIFA after being nominated unopposed for another four years.
Warner, president of CONCACAF, and the CONCACAF general secretary Chuck Blazer will both return to their seats on the FIFA Executive Committee.
