Jamaica win silver medal

Jamaica’s Under-18 girls team won the silver medal at the Junior Caribbean Table Tennis Championships in St Kitts yesterday.



The Jamaicans placed second behind number one seed Puerto Rico in the five-team Championships.



On their way to the silver medal, Jamaica defeated Trinidad and Tobago and Curacao by 3-1 margins before edging Guyana 3-2.



National champion, Yvonne Foster has so far won all her matches in the team event. Tracy-Ann Dattadeen, Kristen McKenzie and Petrina Bogle complete the team.



The Under-15 boys’ team is undefeated from two games after blanking Grenada and Aruba by 3-nil score lines.



Play continues today in the Boys’ Under-15 followed by first round action in the Boys’ Under-18.



There will also be action in Boys and Girls singles for Under-15 and Under-18 and mixed doubles for each age group.
