China\'s annual gross domestic product growth has reportedly slowed in the first quarter of 2009 to 6.1 percent.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that growth was 6.8 percent in the last quarter of 2008, and this is the weakest growth since quarterly records began in 1992.
Economists forecasted growth of about 6.3 percent amid the global collapse in trade.
China\'s government said it is determined to achieve annual growth of 8 percent as it is necessary to maintain employment and forestall unrest.
