England beat Jamaica
Jamaica’s young Sunshine Girls last night suffered a 46 to 43 defeat to England in the final game of their Under-21 three-match netball series at GC Foster College in Spanish Town.
However, the Jamaicans won the series two-one after taking an unbeatable two-nil lead in last night game.
Jamaica won the opening game 59-33 on Monday and the second game 43 to 29 on Wednesday night.
Crystal Gordon logged a game-high 32 goals from 34 attempts for Jamaica. Captain Christina Solmon ended with eight from nine and Vanessa Walker had three from five.
Jo Harten led the way for the visitors with 29 goals from 40 attempts. She was supported by Alex Kirk with nine from 12 and Kristy Delves with eight from 12.
Both teams used the series as warm-up for the World Youth Netball Championship this summer in the Cook Islands.
