Australia level series

Andrew Symonds hit a half-century and took two wickets today to steer Australia to a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the second one-day international at Dubai Sports City in United Arab Emirates.



As a result of the victory Australia have leveled the five-match series at one all.



Symonds made 58 in 62 balls after earlier collecting 2 for 12 to help bowl out Pakistan for 207.



Salman Butt top scored for Pakistan with 57 off 112 balls; while Shahid Afridi scored 41.



Needing 208 runs for victory, Australia reached the target in 45.1 overs with Michael Clarke undefeated on 39.



Also getting among the runs for Australia were James Hopes, who scored 48, and Shane Watson with 30.



Leg spinner Afridi was the most successful bowler for Pakistan with two for 38.



The remaining three matches of the series will be played in Abu Dhabi. The solitary 20/20 match is on May 7.
