Hosts Jamaica will open their title defence against Dominica when the Caribbean Netball Association’s Jean Pierre Youth Under-16 competition serves off this evening at the Leila Robinson Courts.

The Jamaicans are favoured for their eighth title in nine appearances at the tournament.

Led by six-foot-nine inch 15-year-old Marvadene Anderson, Jamaica played undefeated last year to win the title for a seventh time.

Also returning from last year’s squad will be Ashley Henry, Shanice Lee, Shanique Miller, Shereesha Richards and Deneen Taylor.

Other opening round games are Cayman Islands versus Guyana, while former champions Barbados play St Lucia.
