Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas scored his first goals for more than six months in a two-nil win over Middlesbrough yesterday in the English Premier League.

Fabregas scored in the 26th minute and in the 67th minute.

With the victory, Arsenal extended their unbeaten run to 20 league games, not losing since a three-nil defeat at Manchester City on November 22.

The Gunners are in fourth place with 65 points, and will try to narrow the six-point gap on third-place Chelsea in their remaining games to automatically qualify for the Champions League group stage next season.

Middlesbrough are in 18th place with 31 points, but could drop a place lower depending on the outcome of today\'s match between Newcastle and Portsmouth.

In another game, Blackburn defeated Wigan two-nil to move six points clear of the relegation zone.
