Jamaica beat Cayman
Champions Jamaica recorded the biggest win of the 2009 Caribbean Netball Association’s Jean Pierre Youth Under-16 Championships last night with a 66-five mauling of the Cayman Islands at the Leila Robinson Courts.
The seven-time champions used the victory to move to the top of the standings alongside Barbados and Trinidad, all boasting three-nil records.
Scoring for Jamaica, the six foot nine-inch Marvadene Anderson netted 49 goals from 58 attempts, while Deneen Taylor had 13 from 19, Vanessa Jones two from three and Tristina Harwood two from four.
In other games last night, Trinidad and Tobago hammered Guyana 63-six and St Lucia outscored Dominica 32-21. Barbados were idle.
Day four of the competition takes place today with Jamaica facing Barbados in the feature game, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The remaining games are Dominica against Guyana at 6 p.m. and St Lucia facing Trinidad and Tobago at 6:15.
