Kolkata Knight Riders with West Indies captain Chris Gayle suffered a 92-run defeat to Mumbai Indians in their Indian Premier League match at St George’s Park in South Africa yesterday.
Gayle scored only 12 runs as Kolkata Knight Riders, chasing Mumbai’s score of 187 for six, were bowled out for just 95 in 15 point two overs.
Bowling for Mumbai Lions, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo ended with two for 31 including the wicket of Gayle, while Lasith Malinga and Abhishek Nayar took three wickets.
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar 66 and Sanath Jayasuriya 55 put on an opening stand of 127 from 77 balls to set up Mumbai Indians’ victory
The Deccan Chargers with West Indies players Dwayne Smith and Fidel Edwards won their fourth straight match, beating the Chennai Super Kings by six wickets at Kingsmead.
