England named squad

England’s selectors have named uncapped fast bowlers Graham Onions and Tim Bresnan in a 12-man squad to face West Indies in next week’s first Test at Lords.



There was no place for former captain Michael Vaughan.



The selectors have also left out batsman Ian Bell and fast bowler Steve Harmison, while Owais Shah has been dropped.



Ravi Bopara is set to bat in Vaughan’s favoured Number 3 spot. The all rounder scored 104 against West Indies from lower down the order in February’s drawn fourth test in the Caribbean.



England have one more test against West Indies starting May 14 and then three One-Day Internationals before opening the World 20/20 against Scotland on June 2.
