The second Peter Horrobin Pro Am Invitational Golf Tournament will attract a record purse of US$25,000 with the winner guaranteed US$9,500.

The 54-hole tournament, which tees off on May 7 and ends on May 10, was launched yesterday at the Cable and Wireless Golf Academy in Kingston.

On May 6 there will be a Pro Am one-day event.

Funding generated from the tournament will be used to secure scholarships in the United States for young golfers.

The local golf programmes are also set to benefit from funding generated from the tournament.

Defending champion Hector Zapata from Columbia has already confirmed his participation this year.
