Smith, Sharma take Chargers to victory

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith hit 47 while offspinner Rohit Sharma took three wickets today as the Deccan Chargers completed a 53-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in South Africa.



Smith cracked four sixes in 32 balls at the De Beers Diamond Oval, putting on a 37-run stand with Chaminda Vaas 20 off 15 balls.



Andrew Symonds then added 30 runs off 19 balls to help Deccan to 166 for 7 off their allotted 20 overs.



Offspinner Yusuf Pathan was the pick of the Rajasthan attack taking 3 three 34, while left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 2 for 26.



In reply, Rajasthan never threatened Deccan\'s total and were bowled out for 113.



Sharma took three for 12 in three overs, while veteran seamer Chaminda Vaas bowled accurately on a good length to claim 2 for 19 in four.



Only opener Swapnil Asnodkar stood up to the Deccan bowlers, top-scoring with 44 before he was run out in the 14th over.
