Barbados to outline national budget

Barbadian Prime Minister and Finance Minister, David Thompson is on Monday scheduled to outline his administration’s spending and revenue generation plans for the year ahead, in the 2009 national budget.



The announcement was made in the House of Assembly yesterday by Leader of Government Business, Ronald Jones.

The government is predicting expenditure of just over US$1.8 billion and revenue in excess of $1.35 billion.



Estimated expenditure is nearly $9.5 percent higher than last year, while the current revenue projections show a marginal increase of just over one percent.
