The race for the Digicel Premier League title heats up today when defending champions Portmore United meet high-riding Tivoli Gardens in a game, which could decide the champions.

The game will take place at Ferdie Neita Park, beginning at 7 p.m. in the evening.

Portmore United will retain the title by winning the match. They would take an unassailable five-point lead headed into Sunday’s final round.

Tivoli Gardens, who are two points behind, need at least a point to take the title race into the final round.

Harbour View, third on 65 points, three behind Tivoli, are still in with a chance and will host Boys’ Town at Harbour View Mini Stadium in the evening’s other 7 p.m. match.

In the relegation zone, Village United, Reno, Meadhaven United and Sporting Central Academy are battling to avoid relegation.

Second-from-the-bottom Village United face last place Reno at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny, tenth place Meadhaven United play away to eighth place Rivoli United at Spanish Town Prison Oval and ninth place Sporting Central Academy await seventh place St Georges at Brancourt in Clarendon.

Those games are scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m.

Waterhouse and Arnett Gardens will face off at Waterhouse Stadium, beginning at 4 p.m.
