The Pakinstan Government is reporting that more than one thousand militants have been killed in a military offensive against al Qaeda and Taliban fighters since the start of the month.

Officials also say only two percent of the North West Frontier Province remains under Taliban control as a result of the operation.

The Government did not say whether the operation resulted in civilian casualties, or how many people it displaced.

But on Saturday, the United Nations said more than a million people have been displaced as a result of the two week old offensive.
