Captain Burrell re-elected to CONCACAF
President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell was yesterday re-elected to the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) executive committee.
The election took place in Nassau, Bahamas.
Captain Burrell had been challenged for his job representing the Caribbean by Peter Jenkins of St Kitts and Nevis, who withdrew before the congress.
Also re-elected to the CONCACAF executive committee were U.S. federation president Sunil Gulati, and the general secretary of the Honduran soccer federation Alfredo Hawit.
Meanwhile, Jack Warner was re-elected as president and Chuck Blazer as general secretary of CONCACAF.
Warner of Trinidad and Tobago and American Blazer ran without opposition at the CONCACAF congress. Each will return to the FIFA executive committee for another four years, representing CONCACAF.
