Bolt dismisses reports about three events
Beijing Olympic triple gold medallist Usain Bolt has dismissed reports that he is considering to compete in three events at the London Olympics in 2012.
The 22 year old Jamaican, who is the record holder for the 100 and 200 metres, says it is not possible for him to add the 400 metres to his schedule.
Bolt’s comment came two days after track and field’s world governing body, the IAAF, said they were willing to consider altering the athletics schedule at the London Olympics to enable the sprinter to chase three individual gold medals.
That feat has never been achieved by an athlete, given the hectic timetable between the 200 metres and 400 metres.
The IAAF officials are expected to stage their first meeting to consider the programme schedule for the London Games this October at which the topic could be discussed.
