Four French nationals escaped injury yesterday after their single engine aircraft crashed on landing at the Canefield Airport, on the outskirts of the capital, Roseau.

Chief Executive Officer of the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority, Benoit Bardouille says the incident has been reported to the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority for further investigation.

He says it happened when the private aircraft crashed at the northern end of the small runway when the pilot attempted to land.

Officials say the four-seater aircraft suffered damage to its underside.

The four French nationals, whose names were not disclosed, were travelling to Dominica from the neighbouring French island of Martinique.
