New Orleans mayor released from quarantine

Ray Nagin, the Mayor of New Orleans in the United States, has been released from quarantine in Shanghai.



Chinese officials had detained Mayor Nagan, his wife and a bodyguard after it was discovered that they had traveled on a flight with a passenger who was being treated for symptoms associated with the Influenza A H1N1 virus.



However, the mayor’s director of communications says he has not shown sign of the illness.



The New Orleans mayor has continued his trip to Australia, where his is expected to seek tourism support for his city.
