Caribbean concerned about EU elections

Caribbean officials are concerned that the outcome of the recent European elections may hurt their future relations with that bloc.



The winning parties are labelled as conservative and capitalist oriented.



However regional officials say the Caribbean in recent times has benefited more from socialist-oriented policies with Europe.



St Lucia’s Foreign Minister, Rufus Bousquet, says the current situation underscores that the region must increasingly learn to survive its own.
