Parliamentarians in St. Lucia have withdrawn the Civil Status Bill designed to regulate births, marriages, deaths and change of names.
The Opposition leader Dr. Kenny Anthony had previously criticised the Civil Status Bill.
However, notwithstanding the criticisms, the Bill came before the House for a second reading yesterday.
However, after Dr Anthony, highlighted several inconsistencies and legal loopholes, it was withdrawn.
