Mousavi joins opposition rally

Defeated Iranian presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi has joined a huge rally against the result of last Friday’s election.

The BBC says this is Mr. Mousavi’s first public appearance since the election.

He is insisting that the results were rigged in favour of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

However, Mr Ahmadinejad has dismissed the claims saying the vote was fair.

Mr Mousavi supporters are appealing to the Iran’s Guardian Council to review the election results.

A spokesman for the 12-member council says the body would meet Mr Mousavi and others tomorrow to hear their concerns.
